The Chicago Park District has teamed up with Chicago Action Sports to create Go Grind. Go Grind is a series of clinics and-for the first time-camps at some of Chicago’s best skateparks.
Clinics give young people the opportunity to try action sports with the help of expert skateboard and BMX coaches. All clinics are free and open to young people of all ages. Drop-ins are encouraged! We do have very limited equipment, so participants are encouraged to bring their own. Both clinics and camps always include contests, and often we feature street and mural artists, as well as DJs. Our last clinic for 2019 is on October 6 from 12 Noon to 5pm at Big Marsh Park. This is a bike BMX program only. We will not be offering the skateboard clinic at the Big Marsh program.
Camps meet in the afternoon for an entire week, from Monday thru Friday. Participants gather from 2pm to 5pm every day for lessons, park and practice time. They gain skills and confidence every day. Friday’s camp wrap-up feature a classic skate jam with contests and prizes, too.
Our camps have concluded for summer, 2019. Both camps, at Piotrowski Skatepark and Logan Square Skatepark were well attended. Our campers had a great time. If you’re interested in skateboarding consider one of out Clinics. Click on the link above to learn more.
